Hadiths on Ramadan

Sayyidina Abu Hurayrah RA narrated from The Prophet (s) said:

When Ramadan enters, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed and the devils are chained.

Sayyiditina Umm Saleem RA narrated from the Prophet (s) said:

The performance of Umrah during Ramadan is equal (in reward) to performing Hajj with me.

Sayyidina Abu Hurayrah narrated from The Prophet (s) said:

Every action a son of Adam does shall be multiplied—a good action by ten times its value, up to 700 times. Allah says: With the exception of fasting, which belongs to Me, and I reward it accordingly. For, one abandons his desire and food for My sake.

There are two occasions of joy for a fasting person: one when he breaks his fast, and the other when he meets his Lord, and the (bad) breath (of a fasting person) is better in the sight of Allah than the fragrance of musk.

Sayyidina Abu Ayub Al-Ansari RA narrated from the Prophet (S) said,

Whosoever fasts in Ramadan and then follows it with fasting six days of Shawwal, it is as if he fasts forever.

Sayyidina Abu Hurayrah RA  narrated from the Prophet (s) said

Fasting is a shield; so when one of you is fasting he should neither indulge in obscene language nor should he raise his voice in anger. If someone attacks him or insults him, let him say: “I am fasting!”

Sayyidina Abu Hurayrah RA narrated from the Prophet (s) said

The five (daily) prayers, and from one Friday prayer to the next, and from Ramadan to Ramadan are expiation for sins committed in between provided one stays away from the major sins.

Sayyidina Abu Hurayrah RA narrated from the Prophet (s) said

Whoever observes fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven.

Sayyidina Abu Hurayrah RA narrated from the Prophet (s) said

Whoever stands (in the voluntary night prayer of) Ramadan out of faith and in hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.

Sayyidina Abu Hurayrah RA narrated from the Prophet (s) said

Whoever stands (in the voluntary night prayer) in Laylat Al-Qadr out of faith and in hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven. (Al-Bukhari)

Full Adab of Taraweeh

After Azaan of Ishaa (full version, with the Salawats at the end), the 4 rak’aat sunnah (can be done in sets of 2) before Ishaa is done, followed by Ishaa Fard, and the sunnah after Ishaa. The Shaykh, as always, is clad in loose Naqshbandi Sunnah clothing, complete with turban (with tail), beard, ring (on the ring finger of his right hand) and his walking stick, which he often places in front of him, or to one side, when he is in prayer.

Before starting the Tarawih Prayer :  Begin with the recitation Ta’awuz and Basmalah, and 3 Shahadahs, 100 Istighfar, and three times Surah Ikhlas. He said that any Fardh prayer or Qur’an recitation that does not begin with this, is rejected, as one must renew one’s faith, be clean and be sincere before starting any good deed. Then make this intention to fast, just before the Tarawih prayer every night of Ramadan.

Intention :

“I am intending to fast in Ramadan tomorrow, (he mentions the day, i.e. Wednesday), for the sake of Allah Almighty, and upon the intention of GrandShaykh and Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, and I am intending its reward to be given to Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم as a gift and Mawlid to him, to be kept in His ‘bank’, till the Day of Yaum’ul Qiyamah.”

Except for Witr prayers on the night of the 15th and 16th of Ramadan, the Shaykh prays this as a 3 raka’at prayer with one salaam at the end, just as Mawlana Shaykh Nazim does it. However, on the nights of the 15th and 16th of Ramadhan, the Shaykh prays Witr as a 2 raka’at prayer plus a 1 raka’at prayer.

The Imam reads aloud for all three raka’ats, including the Du’a Qunoot.

  1.  In the first raka’at, after Surah Fatihah, Shaykh reads Surah al-Ikhlas.
  2.  In the second raka’at, after Surah Fatihah, Shaykh reads Surah al-Falaq.
  3.   In the final raka’at, after Surah Fatihah, Shaykh reads Surah an-Nas.
  4.  Read the Du’a Qunoot in the final raka’at of Witr prayer, throughout all of Ramadan.

In addition to the Du’a Qunoot that is read in local mosques, add the following verses to the Du’a Qunoot (which are also read in Fajr prayers).

Allahummak shif ‘anna minal balaa ya ma la yakshifuhu ghayruk. (Oh Allah! Lift from us trials which no one can but You can.)

Allahumas qinal ghaytha suqya rahmatin wa la taj ‘alna minal qaniteen. (Oh Allah! Give us to drink from the rain of Your Mercy, and let us not be of the despondent.)

Rabbighfir warham wa anta khayrur rahimeen. (Lord, forgive and have Mercy, for you are the Most Merciful.)

Allahumma innaka ‘afuwun kareem tuhibbul, ‘afwa fa’ fu anna wa yardha anna ya Kareem. (Oh Allah, You Love to forgive generously, so please forgive me and be pleased with me, O Generous One).

Witr on the nights of the 15th and 16th of Ramadan

As mentioned above, on these nights, the Witr prayer is split into a 2 raka’at prayer and a 1 raka’at prayer. This is in honour of the middle of Ramadan, as on the 16th night, Sayyidina Jibrail (as), together with 5000 Angels, descend to the earth and give salaams to the believers, and they will remain on earth till Fajr after the Night of Power (Laylatul Qadr).

  • After the 2 raka’at prayer is completed, the Shaykh reads:
  • Allahumma solli ‘ala Muhammadin wa ‘ala ‘alihi Muhammadin wasallim

The Gearbox of the month of Ramadan will be changed tonight from the 1st 15th days to the 2nd 15th days. For this now, the lights, rewards and maqams that Allah opens are totally different form 1st day of Ramadan till tonight.

From this night, it is starting of Awliyaa ascending to the Diwan of RasoolAllah (S) to be meeting with Sahib Az Zaman to be meeting to give them the information and dress them what to activating between the Ummah for the coming 15th days. This year is very special, Whats opened has never been opened before which is The lights descending on these 10 days from the Oceans of the greatest name of Allah Almighty directly.

  • Whoever prays the Taraweeh and Witr prayer in this eve and making Dua Al-Qunoot, Allah Almighty will dress him by Malaikah which will be dressed on Laylatul Qadr on the ummah.

This eve of 16th is different from previous years as its coming directly from Allah Almighty directly, then from RasoolAllah (S)directly, then from Sahib az Zaman directly. Then from all AwliyaAllah directly to the ummah.

This night is opening the lights of the greatest name of Allah Almighty relating to the last 10 days of this year in Laylatul Qadr and to be dressed who kept all the month fasting and praying Taraweeh and witr. Adab of Laylatul Qadr

On 27th Ramadan advised all to attend the Taraweeh prayers in their locality and to pray Salat’ul Tasbih and Salat’ul Shukr before or after the Witr. The one who does this will be as if they have given the rights and respect for Laylatul Qadr. They will dressed by the Divinely lights of the Greatest name of Allah Almighty descending this year for all of Ummah of RasoolAllah Sallahu alayhi wa Sallam.

They will also be dressed by Salaam from Allah Almighty through Sayyidina Jibreel and the 5000 Malaikah carrying the Tajjali of this year’s Laylatul Qadr.

The following Adab is what GrandShaykh Abdullah Al Fai’z Ad-Dagestani (Q) and Mawlana Shaykh Nazim (Q) practised for every Laylatul Qadr on behalf of all of the Ummah of RasoolAllah Sallahu alayhi wa Sallam.

The secret is to intend whatever Grandshaykh (Q) and Mawlana (Q) intended for this night, I am intending on their intention. As Grandshaykh (Q) is the Imam of Intentions in the Divine Presence and will serve the one fully as if he did all worship when making this Intention.

  • 1 hour before Maghrib – Have Ghusl on the intention of Grandshaykh and Mawlana to welcome Laylatul Qadr and be dressed in the Divinely lights of Laylatul Qadr
  • Say GrandShaykh’s intention before all worship – Make intention as follows: nawaitu al-arba’in, nawaitu al-‘uzla, nawaitu al-khalwa, nawaitu l-‘itikaf, nawaitu s-sulook, nawaitu r-riadah lillahi ta’ala fee hazhal masjid.
  • 2 Rakats Sunnat’ul Ghusl
  • Adab of Tariqah
  • Grandshaykh’s Dua al Mathur
  • Iftar
  • Salat’ul Maghrib with all Awrad
  • Salat’ul Isha with all Awrad

  • After the 4 Sunnah of Isha – Renew your intention to fast the day of 27th Ramadan and Pray 20 Rakahs of Taraweeh

I am intending to fast in Ramadan tomorrow, The day of Saturday 27th Ramadan for the sake of Allah Almighty, and upon the intention of GrandShaykh and Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, and I am intending its reward to be given to Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم as a gift and Mawlid to him, to be kept in His ‘bank’, till the Day of Yaum’ul Qiyamah.”

  • 20 Rakats Salat’ul Taraweeh
  • 4 Rakats Salat’ul Tasbih
  • 2 Rakats Salatu’l Shukr
  • 3 Rakats Salat’ul Witr with Dua Qunoot ( Mawlana prefers to pray the Shafi Way by 2 Rakats Shaf and 1 Rakat Witr)
  • Short Khatamul Khwajagan
  • Pray 100 raka’ats Solat Sunnat Lailatul Qadr in sets of two. Read Surah al-Ikhlas twice in the 1st raka’at, and once in the 2nd raka’at, after Surah Fatihah.

Stay awake all night, reading Qur’an and reciting the award. Pray Salatul Najat and Fajr with all Awrad. Conclude with Ishraq Prayer after sunrise

On the following day, it is encouraged to make two sacrifices (Qurban) for the Face of Allah, the Highest, the Almighty, to thank Allah and to amend the shortcomings of our fast. One should offer the sacrifice for the Community of Prophet Muhammad (saw) and for the people of Tariqa, distributing the meat to the poor and needy.

Do all the following in congregation if possible. This is the tradition that Mawlana Sultan Awliya followed throughout his life.

Benefits of praying 100 Rakahs on Laylatul Qadr

Firstly, the 100 raka’ats sunnah that we are doing on this night, will bring upon us the blessings of a thousand months of worship, or more. The degree of one’s reward depends on the degree to which the worship is done with Sincerity and Love for Allah, Love for RasoolAllah Sallahu alayhi wa sallam and Love for Awliyaullah. Depending on the grade and depth of our Love, some will receive the reward of a hundred thousand months, others, a million months, and yet others, an infinite number of months! So approach tonight’s worship with reverence and cherish every moment of the blessed night.

Remember, be present with Allah during your prayers! Most people who pray, are not with Allah, instead their minds and hearts are with their thoughts, their daydreaming, their distractions and their dunya, although their physical bodies appear to be standing in fervent worship. So be with Allah with Love, and you will be rewarded accordingly.

Secondly, a Hadeeth narrated by Sayyidina Abu Bakr Siddique Radi Allah Anhu in which RasoolAllah Sallahu alayhi wa sallam said, “One who recites salawat upon me, will receive my shafa’ah and he will be protected from ahzab in this world and in the Hereafter.”

When a group of people gather and recite selawat, Angels with golden pens gather around these worshippers in multitudes, from their feet right up to the Throne of Allah Almighty. The Angels then record these salutations upon the Prophet with their golden pens and they themselves add to the reward of the worshippers by also reciting salawat upon RasoolAllah Sallahu alayhi wa sallam. The Angels then say to these worshippers, “Do more salawats, you are receiving immense blessings!”

When the congregation is reciting these Salawats with Love for RasoolAllah Sallahu alayhi wa sallam, the Light of the Face of Allah descends upon them and He will Glance at each worshipper, looking at them, and one whom Allah Almighty looks at, will be saved for eternity. It is for this reason that selawat upon RasoolAllah Sallahu alayhi wa sallam is recited between every 2 raka’ats of Tarawih, so that these recording Angels will be present and the Light of the Face of Allah will be upon the congregation.

In another Hadeeth, the Prophet said, “Reciting salawat upon me is superior to liberating slaves and the drawing of swords for Jihad in the path of Allah (these were two of the most foremost deeds that were done during the time of RasoolAllah Sallahu alayhi wa sallam.”

It is encouraged for us to do abundant salawat for RasoolAllah Sallahu alayhi wa sallam tonight with overflowing Love, especially for the ladies who are having their period/menses, and who are unable to do the 100 raka’at salah.

Only those who are chosen and invited will be present in worship on this night, entreating their Lord and humbling themselves before their Lord.

And those who are enemies to themselves, will treat this night very lightly, as if this were an ordinary night and they will busy themselves with frivolous activities such as much eating, watching tv and doing some worship, listlessly.

May Allah dress us with hidayah so that we will be among the chosen ones to be with Allah Almighty and with his Beloved Habibullah and with the Awliyaullah on this blessed night.

On The Last Night of Ramadanunnamed

After Praying Salat’ul Witr, Stand up facing Qiblah and recite 100 Salawat Ala Nabi (s) and Gift all our fasting and prayers of the Month of Ramadan as a Gift of Mawlid An-Nabi (s) on the Intention of Grandshaykh Abdullah Al-Fa’iz Ad-Dagestani and behalf of all of the Ummat’ul Muhammadiyah.

Make sure to distribute Zakat’ul Fitr before the Eid Prayer as the fasts will be suspended between the Heavens and Earth until the Zakat’ul Fitr is paid.

Keep alive the Night of Eid’ul Fitr with worship until Salat’ul Eid which consists of 2 Rakats with 7 Takbeerats after Takbeerat’ul Ihram then Surah al-Fathiah and Qira’ah of Quran. In the 2nd Rak’ah 5 Takbeerat. After the prayer is over, Recite Takbeerat’ul Eid until the Imam starts the Khutbah. After each Fardh Prayer on this day, recite Takbeerat’ul Eid and read Takbir, Tahlil and Tahmeed throughout this holy day.

Prophet (S) said “Decorate your Eid with Takbir (Allahu akbar), Tahmid (Alhamdulillah), Tahlil (La ilaha illlah) and Tasbih (Subhanallah)
